Each month, we interview one of our out-of-sight employees here at Whereoware. For October, we get to know Sara Mallick, our Internal Marketing Associate, a little better.
What’s your name? Sara Mallick
Job title: Internal Marketing Associate
Hidden talents: I embroider, cross-stitch, and crochet! I haven’t found a form of needlework that I don’t enjoy.
In a zombie apocalypse, my weapon of choice would be: A car for mowing down zombies, obviously. But don’t forget rule #4: Buckle up.
Words to live by: “Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way.” Booker T. Washington
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Tell us a little about your position and what you do on a day-to-day basis.
Every day can look a little bit different in my role, and that’s exactly what I like about it! I work on the operational side of Marketing and Sales at Whereoware, developing and implementing processes, automations, and anything that might help optimize our teams’ work.
What’s your favorite aspect of your role?
My role on the Internal Marketing team is at many intersections: I support front-end Sales Reps and behind-the-scenes Marketers, on both the Whereoware and Pharos sides of the business, which means I get to interact with a lot of different teams across the company. We have a great staff, so it’s a privilege to work closely with so many phenomenal people!
What’s the best part about working at Whereoware?
Since I’ve already mentioned the wonderful people, I’d say the next best thing is that there are so many opportunities to learn new skills. It’s hard to find a workplace that’s committed to helping you grow!
What keeps you motivated?
I think about my dad. He made huge sacrifices to immigrate to the US in the 1980s and has been working hard every day since to ensure I have the best life possible. I’m also inherently competitive (what can I say, I’m an Aries) which usually translates into being in competition with myself to do the best that I can.
Any fun stories from your time at Whereoware?
I’m a pretty big baseball nerd, so the annual company outing to a Nats game has been one of many highlights!
My first day on the job was April Fools Day, which also happened to be the day of the Pie A Partner contest. I knew from the get-go that I’d have a lot of fun working at Whereoware, and I wasn’t wrong!
