ATLANTA,July 11, 2013 – Recognizing Innovation, Contribution and Achievement in the gift and home industry, the Icon Honors were presented Thursday night, July 11, during a gala affair held at the Marriott Marquis. The honors recognize achievements across the industry, including those of individuals, manufacturers, retailers, sales reps and service providers and were presented in front of a filled ballroom of hundreds of industry colleagues. Grammy-winning musician Peter Frampton entertained the crowd, and former CNN anchorwoman Lynne Russell helped to emcee the event alongside Americasmart president and COO Jeffrey L. Portman Sr.

Winners of 2013 Icon Honors are:


Innovative Technology Applications

  • Whereoware, Herndon, VA, for its email closeout campaign designed for Creative Co-op, which was designed to move excess inventory profitably through a more personalized approach to retailers. Innovative Product Design
  • Blue Ocean Traders, Louisville, KY, for its championing of vintage and reclaimed product in its home furnishings product development mission
  • Jura Capresso Inc., Closter, NJ, for its smallest bean-to-cup one-touch automatic cappuccino machine
  • Rolf Glass, Mount Pleasant, PA, for the eco-friendly Glacier Glass line created from used wine bottles
